Full Job Description
Texas Instruments (TI) is looking for an experienced Chemical & Gas Engineer to join our Facilities Central Engineering Team. In this role you will drive continuous improvement and optimization of our chemical and gas handling systems. You will leverage your technical expertise to advance process efficiency, ensure compliance, and support the strategic goals of our facility's manufacturing operations. These systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption, creating a state of the art manufacturing environment. Facilities works closely with TI's manufacturing team to understand how the utility systems impact the process as well as how to reduce consumption. Responsibilities include: Engineering & Technical Leadership • Make engineering decisions that balance safety, reliability, cost, capacity, and operational efficiency • Lead the analysis, design, and continuous improvement of chemical, specialty gas, bulk gas, slurry, and related high-purity utility systems • Provide engineering technical support for system operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and incident response • Develop and maintain key system documentation, including P&IDs, process flow diagrams, operating procedures, and sequences of operation • Drive reliability and risk-based engineering through root cause analysis, FMEAs, system assessments, and improvement roadmaps • Partner with operations, maintenance, manufacturing, EHS, and engineering teams to improve system performance and safe operation • Mentor engineers and technicians while strengthening overall team technical capability Project Leadership & Execution • Lead capital and expense projects for system upgrades, expansions, and optimization initiatives from concept through startup and handoff • Define project scope, priorities, schedules, resources, and success measures, and drive execution to plan • Coordinate design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities to ensure systems perform as intended • Develop scopes of work, bid packages, technical specifications, and construction documentation • Facilitate alignment across engineering, operations, supply chain, and external partners throughout project execution • Identify and manage project risks, change control, and implementation issues to minimize operational impact • Report project progress, results, and lessons learned to leadership Texas Instruments will not sponsor job applicants for visas or work authorization for this position. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering field • 5 years of relevant engineering experience Preferred Qualifications: • Capital or expense project leadership for semiconductor chemical or gas systems • Understanding of semiconductor facilities systems for specialty gas, chemical, slurry, and bulk gas systems • Hazardous gas and chemical safety compliance knowledge, including SEMI, CGA, PSM/RMP, NFPA, or IBC • Chemical compatibility knowledge for process fluids, gases, and materials of construction to meet semiconductor high-purity requirements • Advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, FMEA, and reliability engineering experience • Performance metrics, dashboards, and data analysis for system optimization • Cross-functional partnership across facilities, manufacturing, EHS, process engineering, and maintenance About the Team TI does not make recruiting or hiring decisions based on citizenship, immigration status or national origin.
