Facilities Assessment Field Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Assessment Field Supervisor to support large-scale building and infrastructure assessment projects across District facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for construction, facilities, engineering, or building systems professionals who enjoy field-based work, problem solving, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of commercial or institutional building systems, construction practices, and facility conditions assessments. This role offers long-term stability and the opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and improvement of public facilities throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field assessments of building systems and facility components at various District sites
  • Identify, document, and evaluate building conditions, deficiencies, and remaining service life of systems and components
  • Collect and input field data using tablets, laptops, smartphones, and other digital platforms
  • Utilize construction knowledge to identify concealed building systems located behind walls, ceilings, and floors
  • Evaluate facility conditions using established assessment standards and guidelines
  • Collaborate with trade surveyors and project teams to gather measurements, quantities, and site information
  • Support special facility surveys and site investigations as needed
  • Provide guidance and field support to staff and survey team participants
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate findings effectively with project leadership


Requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
  • Candidates without a degree may qualify with at least 10 years of relevant construction, facilities, or building systems experience
  • Strong understanding of commercial, educational, or institutional building systems and construction methods
  • Experience performing field inspections, facility assessments, condition surveys, or construction oversight preferred
  • Comfortable working in active field environments and traveling between project sites
  • Proficiency with tablets, laptops, and digital data collection tools
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
  • Facilities Condition Assessments (FCA)
  • Commercial or public-sector construction projects
  • Building inspections or systems evaluations
  • Supervising field teams or survey personnel
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural, and architectural systems
