FACILITIES AND OPERATIONS MANAGER, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research , to ensure that the building, laboratory infrastructure, equipment, and facility operations function safely, reliably, and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary contact for building and equipment maintenance and repair requests; Track and follow up on work orders and service calls with MIT departments and external vendors; Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance for building systems, laboratory equipment, and related infrastructure; Provide day-to-day supervision of Glassware Preparation Core Facility staff; Support small-scale construction, renovation, and relocation projects in coordination with KI Administration leadership; Coordinate management of construction activities and minimize disruption to building operations; Develop and maintain building contingency plans in partnership with the EHS Coordinator; Maintain building and laboratory security, including oversight of related systems and security initiatives; Manage utility services, safety equipment, and environmental control systems; Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED : Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management or a related field; and a minimum of three years of relevant experience. PREFERRED : More than five years of progressive building operations and project management experience in a scientific laboratory or academic environment; hands-on experience with routine and specialized equipment, building systems, and control equipment; experience developing and assessing building maintenance programs, including electrical and mechanical systems; experience with space planning, renovation, construction coordination, and personnel moves; proficiency with Mac OS X, Microsoft Office, web browsers, CAD, and computerized building systems; Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities; excellent customer service skills and experience working effectively with a diverse community; diplomacy, sound judgment, negotiation skills, and strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment; experience coordinating with external agencies, contractors, vendors, and institutional partners; resourceful, flexible, and solutions-oriented approach to problem solving; ability to lift 50 pound; and basic understanding of engineering.
