Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Translates business objectives into production strategies, aligning departmental goals with overall organizational priorities.
• Leads and develops production leadership (supervisors and team leads), building capability, succession strength, and employee engagement across the department.
• Reviews production forecasts, schedules, and resource requirements to proactively plan operations and ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.
• Establishes production priorities, ensuring optimal workflow, labor utilization, and cross-functional alignment with quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams.
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., lean manufacturing, waste reduction, process optimization) to enhance productivity, quality, and cost performance.
• Analyzes production metrics, KPIs, and operational reports to identify trends, address gaps, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Champions a culture of safety, accountability, and adherence to standard work, ensuring compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Partners with Human Resources and leadership to support employee development, performance management, and workforce planning strategies.
• Coaches and mentors team members, fostering a positive work environment and promoting growth, engagement, and retention.
• Oversees resolution of operational challenges and escalated employee relations issues, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.
• Evaluates equipment, processes, and technologies to support long-term operational strategy and capital planning.
• Develops and implements standard operating procedures and best practices to drive consistency, scalability, and continuous improvement.
• Ensures accurate data collection and reporting to support decision-making and operational transparency.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides leadership and oversight for a team of approximately 5-10 direct and up to 40 indirect employees, ensuring supervisory practices align with organizational policies and legal requirements. Responsible for talent acquisition, development, and performance management; workforce planning and work allocation; fostering employee engagement; and effectively resolving employee relations matters.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university with 3-5 years related experience; or Associate's degree with 5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Recognized Lean Manufacturing training preferred.
