Full Job Description
Fab & Self Perform Commissioning Lead

The Fab & Self Perform Commissioning Lead is responsible for commissioning and integration with QA/QC of fabricated and self performed M&E assemblies produced in the fab shop and installed on data centre projects. This role ensures that modules and assemblies (panels, skids, busway segments, RPPs, whip racks, CDU/pump skids, etc.) leave the shop with a known, tested status and are handed over to field teams with clear remaining test requirements, creating a seamless bridge between fab and field.

What You Will Be Working On

Define and implement standard test procedures for all fabricated electrical and mechanical assemblies in the shop (visual, torque, continuity, insulation, basic functional checks).

Own the fab‑side L2/L3 testing scope for self‑performed assemblies, including tagging and documentation of pass/fail results and open items.

Issue consistent fab Cx reports for each assembly, detailing what was tested, what passed, what was deferred to site, and any defects to be resolved prior to or during install.

Coordinate with Electrical & Powertrain Cx Lead and Mechanical & Cooling Cx Lead to define fab vs field test splits and ensure no duplication or gaps.

Work with fab management to monitor and improve first‑pass yield, rework rates, and test failure trends, focusing on impacts to commissioning and schedule.

Support factory witness testing for modules where the fab shop is involved in integration or pre‑assembly.

Enforce storage, handling, and protection standards that preserve equipment integrity and commissioning validity.

What We Are Looking For

Strong electrical foundation with practical experience in panel builds, skids, busway, and modular assemblies, plus willingness to expand into mechanical modules.

Hands‑on experience with commissioning, QA/QC, or testing in a fabrication, prefab, or mission‑critical environment.

Ability to design and enforce repeatable test procedures and documentation standards, not just ad hoc checks.

Comfort working in a shop environment and bridging into field Cx, with an understanding of how shop decisions affect site performance.

5+ years in electrical or mechanical fabrication, QA/QC, or commissioning data centres, industrial plants, or similar.

Experience with prefab/prefabrication programs on large construction projects.

Familiarity with commissioning and quality tools (Procore, Cx platforms, QA/QC checklists).

Technical diploma or degree in electrical/mechanical technology or engineering, or equivalent experience.

Exposure to data centre or mission‑critical environments is a strong plus.
