Job DescriptionYou will be the 729131BR - F-22 Release Captain for the Release Management team which is responsible for orchestrating the end-to-end release process across multiple product lines.
What You Will Be DoingAs the 729131BR - FS-22 Release Captain you will be responsible for aligning schedules, resources, and risk mitigation while guiding the integrated release effort.

- Develop and maintain the integrated release schedule (monthly, weekly, daily) that drives builds, test cut-offs, and delivery events.
- Partner with Capability Leads to validate milestone realism and embed them into the release timeline.
- Coordinate with Product Line Teams to launch hardware and software tasks early enough to meet net-new-content and defect cut-offs.
- Oversee integration points, ensuring builds flow smoothly into lab and flight-test activities.
- Lead the weekly release-execution meeting, delivering status updates, risk flags, and decision points.

Further Information About This OpportunityMUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications• Active Secret DoD security clearance.
• 8+ years of engineering experience in aerospace or defense, with at least 1year leading system releases for systems of systems
• Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain, and drive a detailed release schedule (monthly weekly daily) that integrates hardware and software milestones.
• Proven experience coordinating across Leads and Product Teams to align milestones, manage integration points, and meet test cut offs.
• Strong risk management skills: ability to identify, communicate, and mitigate schedule and technical risks to leadership and external partners.
• Experience leading regular release execution meetings and providing concise status updates and decision points.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scaled Agile processes and tools (e.g., JIRA, ClearCase/ClearQuest) for tracking work and metrics.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or a related technical field.
Desired skills• Advanced knowledge of F-22/F-35 air-vehicle software architectures and real-time simulation environments.
• Experience with Digital Twin or model-based development tools (e.g., Rose, Rhapsody, MATLAB/Simulink).
• Proficiency in Ada95, C/C++, and scripting languages (Perl, Python) for build automation and test harnesses.
• Ability to use configuration-management and change-control systems (ClearCase, ClearQuest, Git/Bitbucket).
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to lead cross-functional teams and drive consensus in high-tempo release meetings.
• Track record of mentoring junior engineers and new Release Captains.
• Familiarity with cost-accounting practices and writing Bases of Estimate (BOE) for aerospace programs.
• Effective written and oral communication, including preparation of executive status briefs and risk reports.
• Demonstrated flexibility to adapt schedule plans to evolving capability requirements and emergent test constraints.

Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
