We're looking for aresourceful, hands-on public relations pro who can develop and execute breakthrough campaigns, tell compelling stories with a fresh and modern voice and manage crisis communications. You'll be on top of breaking news affecting the mortgage industry and enterprising in your strategies to insert Chase Home Lending in the moment.

As an External Communications Vice President within Consumer & Community Banking you will manage public relations for Home Lending. In addition, you will be responsible for telling Home Lending's story externally-including through proactive and reactive media relations-using all forms of media. You will also develop engaging pitches as second nature and are driven by earning the best coverage you can. You can turn complex topics into interesting, easy-to-digest information. As a member of the Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Communications team, you will be a part of a high-performing team that communicates with honesty, authenticity and empathy.

Job responsibilities:
  • Tell Home Lending's story, and support the creation of impactful communications to reach key audiences, including consumers, real estate agents, and industry-related opinion leaders.
  • Develop, present and execute surround-sound communications/public relations campaigns that lead business results, leveraging all channels (chase.com, social media, branches, etc.) to tell a holistic story.
  • Execute on the media relations strategy at national, trade, and regional levels, and with multicultural media. Serve as a spokesperson for Home Lending.
  • Craft talking points, news releases, backgrounders and other collateral materials in support of the company's media relations program.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to Chase executives and managers, supporting them as spokespeople and thought leaders through prep, speaker briefs, messaging, etc.
  • Protect and enhance the reputation of the firm - both externally and among employees.
  • Manage PR agency on campaign execution and measurement.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • 7+ years of experience in a PR, marketing or journalism role
  • Proven experience in media relations, and proactively executing public relations campaigns that resulted in positive press coverage
  • Experience with earned, paid and social media Public Relations tactics; subject matter expertise on lifestyle press and consumer PR
  • Some domestic travel will be required
  • Superior writing and editing skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task - manage multiple stories/communications/plans simultaneously
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills. Ability to interface with senior management and work well with colleagues across businesses and functions.
  • Collaborative team player with negotiation and influencing skills
  • Fluency across social media and other multi-media channels
  • Must be able to demonstrate speed, flexibility and adaptability. We need a go-getter with the ability to deliver on tight deadlines - and sometimes outside traditional business hours.
  • Excellent executive presence and presentation skills; experience creating multimedia content, such as video and podcasts; advanced PowerPoint skills with demonstrated expertise telling a story visually
