Job Summary:

The Experienced Manager, Forensics is responsible for developing work plans for compliance monitorships, global forensic and other litigation matters. This position leads projects and staff in the execution of those engagements, including participating in site visits and interviews, overseeing transactional reviews, analyzing the results and synthesizing observations and conclusions.

Job Duties:
  • Participates in engagements related to accounting and compliance matters in litigation or under investigation
  • Interacts with high level BDO and client personnel and attorneys, as well as Federal and local government agencies, as required
  • Coordinates and manages resources on international engagements
  • Compiles and analyzes facts to formulate, substantiate and/or critique opinions/work of opposing experts/parties and various methodologies or conclusions
  • Participates in the investigations of individuals or groups potentially in possession of information regarding fraudulent activities
  • Prepares reports of findings, including necessary tables, exhibits and charts
  • Participates in the planning and management of engagements to include budgeting, billings and conflict checks
  • Supervises staff and provides interim deliverables to clients (such as input for discovery requests, interviews, or compliance testing)
  • Develops work plans for a variety of investigative and other global forensic litigation matters, including compliance monitorships, fraud investigations, anti-corruption investigations, white collar crime and securities fraud matters
  • Works as a member of teams on multiple projects simultaneously, drafts client communication for senior level review and participates in the execution of business development initiatives
  • Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Reviews work prepared by Managers, Senior Associates and Associates to ensure high-quality work product
  • Supervises the day-to-day workload of Senior Associates and Associates on assigned engagements, reviews work product and provides feedback
  • Ensures Managers, Senior Associates and Associates are trained on all relevant resources
  • Acts as Career Advisor to Senior Associates and Associates, as appropriate


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:
  • Bachelors degree, required; focus in Accounting, Economics, Finance, preferred
  • MBA, preferred

Experience:
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in public accounting, external/internal audit, compliance, internal controls, international engagements, or litigation services consulting experience, required
  • Business experience in the application of accounting principles, preferred

License/Certifications:
  • CPA, CFE or CVA, preferred
  • Other advanced certification (Certified Financial Analyst, Certified in Financial Forensics, PMP), preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to research and apply accounting pronouncements and government regulations in a business context, public accounting environment, regulatory environment or in the course of providing litigation services
  • Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm

Software:
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word, preferred

Language:
  • Business Mandarin fluency, preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sharp awareness and keen sense of sensitivity towards diverse cultures and global business practices
  • Strong analytical and basic research skills related to the retrieval and organization of high volumes of information

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $110,000 - $140,000
Maryland Range: $110,000 - $140,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $110,000 - $140,000
