Job DescriptionThe Lifting and Handling Electrical Engineer will gain practical and theoretical electrical engineering experience while performing maintenance and upkeep on heavy operating equipment in a nuclear environment. This role supports the safe operation, troubleshooting, and improvement of lifting and handling systems used in the nuclear refueling mission for Naval Reactors. The engineer will work in a multidisciplined engineering environment, collaborating closely with mechanical, structural, operations, and maintenance personnel to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with applicable codes and standards. Responsibilities typically include supporting design changes, maintenance planning, field walkdowns, and issue resolution for electrically powered lifting and handling equipment.
Required Combination of Knowledge and SkillBachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science field; or Currently an Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
Preferred Skills- Familiarity of the National Electrical Code (NEC) or equivalent electrical codes and standards
- Familiarity with PLCs, motor controls, and industrial control systems related to heavy equipment
- Familiarity working in diverse teams and interfacing with stakeholders at multiple levels (engineering, operations, maintenance)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey technical issues to non-technical audiences

Pay Range$86,100.00 - $134,600.00 annually
