Key Duties for this position will include:
• Working from engineering drawings, written work instructions and process specifications to assemble structural and precision mechanical components in a shop environment.
• Installation and torquing of fasteners, drilling, installation of rivets, adhesive bonding, measurement and shimming interfaces to close tolerances.
• Aerospace paint, aerospace primer and other aerospace coating application using spray, brush, swab techniques.
• Surface prep, using grit blast, hand abrade and power abrasion techniques.
• Prepreg and wet layup fabrication techniques, including vacuum bag processing, bonding, and oven/autoclave curing.
• Tooling fabrication from various materials such as aluminum, composites, and wood.
• Working with small shop power tools (saws, routers, sanders, and grinders).
• Machine shop equipment operation (mill, lathe, table saw, band saw, etc.).
• Assembly of composite structures including setup, bonding, and fastener applications.
• Operation of measuring devices such as calipers, height gages, micrometers, and torque wrenches.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years experience working with composite manufacturing including layup and bonding operation working with pre-preg composites and multiple adhesives.
- Experience leading teams of 3 or more in production projects
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with the proper usage of mechanics hand tools and power tools
- Experience using industry machinery such as power shears, drill press, band saw.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Experience working in collaboration with multiple areas to achieve objectives.
- Extensive experience working with autoclaves and composite curing vessels.
- Previous experience working with 2 part adhesives. Mixing, measuring, documenting usage, and testing final cure.
Desired skills
- Composite oven recipe writing highly desired.
- Familiarity with composite ply cut machinery such as a Zund or similar
- Overhead crane operation experience
- Past experience working in an aerospace or space environment.
- Aircraft & Powerplant license or similar professional certifications.

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $62,200 - $109,710. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Premium Pay Statement
