This Opportunity:
We're looking for a commercial litigator who enjoys property and business disputes.
Real Estate. Construction. Strata. Development conflicts. Builders liens. Commercial leases. Bonus points for shareholder disputes. Many of clients are doing exciting things in the Fraser Valley and beyond. If these files interest you, we should talk.
You will be trusted to run files and exercise judgment. Ideally you are comfortable in chambers and have conducted at least one trial in Supreme Court, but what matters most is your ability to move a matter forward strategically and confidently.
You also can't groan at those delightful scheduling emails on construction matters. At least not audibly.
Who We Think Will Be Successful:
This role tends to work well for someone who:
- enjoys the practical side of property-related litigation
- likes having ownership over files
- wants autonomy without being isolated
We anticipate to be successful, you will likely have been called to the bar for 4+ years, although years of call matter less to us than judgment, initiative and the ability to move a file forward.
Compensation:
We offer flexible compensation structures designed to meet you where you're at, from salary to fee split, or a blend of base plus commission. Let's talk about what works for you and your goals. We also offer extended health and dental benefits, as well as parental leave and some other perks.
Interested?
If this sounds like the kind of practice you want to build, we'd love to hear from you. If timing isn't quite right, we're always happy to add strong candidates to our virtual bench.
