A full-time position is available for an Experienced Aviation Engineering Project Manager at our San Diego, CA office location.
Responsibilities for this position may include the following:- Serves as project manager and/or project engineer on complex projects
- Researches and recommends advances in technical software and other new technology in the field to improve efficiency
- Provides technical guidance to staff in area of expertise
- Will serve as project manager and lead marketing pursuits, will act as client contact
- Responsible for schedules, work in progress, and timely completion of projects
- Coordinates and approves pricing, estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects
- Develops engineering agreements for their projects within the department
- Responsible for control of work-in-process
- Assists with contract administration
- Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction. schedules, environmental impact studies, permits and designs for projects
- Instructs technicians to convert designs to working drawings
- Visits construction sites to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents
- Other duties as assigned
A valid driver's license and some travel will be required.
The successful candidate will have:- A bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering from an accredited college or university and at least twelve (12) years of experience
- A PE license is required.
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:- Experience leading aviation design and construction projects
- Experience serving as the project manager on aviation projects
- Experience mentoring and leading engineering project teams
- Construction management experience
- Experience in contract administration scope and fee preparation/negotiations
- Experience with Marketing and Business Development
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience

Salary Range: $135,000 - $179,000 - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
