Full Job Description

Overview

Kirby Bates Associates is seeking an experienced Executive Recruiter to join our executive search team and help connect exceptional healthcare leaders with organizations where they can make a meaningful impact.

This is an opportunity for an accomplished recruiter who enjoys the detective work of finding outstanding talent, the relationship-building required to engage senior-level candidates, and the satisfaction of helping healthcare organizations identify their next generation of leaders.

As an Executive Recruiter at Kirby Bates Associates, you’ll be an integral member of each search team—partnering closely with our Vice Presidents and Associate Vice Presidents to develop sourcing strategies, identify and engage highly qualified candidates, assess talent, and create an exceptional candidate experience from initial outreach through placement.

If you are curious, resourceful, highly organized, and passionate about healthcare and people, we’d like to meet you.

What You’ll Do
Find Exceptional Healthcare Leaders

You’ll develop and execute thoughtful research and sourcing strategies for executive searches, using LinkedIn, professional networks, databases, associations, Boolean search techniques, and other resources to uncover outstanding candidates—including talented leaders who may not be actively looking for their next opportunity.

You’ll work closely with each search team to:

  • Develop targeted search and research strategies.
  • Identify and build pipelines of qualified executive candidates.
  • Use LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, professional associations, databases, directories, and other resources creatively and effectively.
  • Identify gaps in a sourcing strategy and recommend new approaches.
  • Maintain accurate, current candidate information in our applicant tracking system.
  • Keep the search team informed of progress, market feedback, and emerging challenges.
Turn Prospects Into Engaged Candidates

Finding great people is only the beginning. You’ll build relationships with prospective candidates, introduce them to compelling opportunities, and help determine whether there is a strong fit between the leader and our client organization.

You’ll:

  • Conduct thoughtful outreach to prospective candidates and convert qualified prospects into active candidates.
  • Screen candidates against established criteria and develop a clear understanding of their experience, accomplishments, credentials, and career goals.
  • Identify potential concerns or gaps and communicate them effectively to the search team.
  • Prepare candidates for interviews with Kirby Bates search leaders.
  • Maintain regular communication so candidates remain informed and engaged throughout the search process.
  • Ensure resumes and candidate materials meet Kirby Bates standards for accuracy, content, and presentation.
  • Help coordinate client interviews and candidate logistics.
  • Support ongoing follow-up with successfully placed executives during their first year.
Be a Trusted Search Partner

You’ll work collaboratively with multiple members of the Kirby Bates team and contribute insight, judgment, and information throughout the search process.

That means communicating proactively, meeting commitments, maintaining exceptional attention to detail, and ensuring that both candidates and colleagues have the information they need when they need it.

Although this is a remote position, participation in occasional in-person client meetings, internal meetings, conferences, seminars, and industry events may be required.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role isn’t simply measured by activity. It’s about finding the right people—and engaging them effectively.

Two important measures of success are:

Speed to qualified candidates: You efficiently translate a search strategy into a strong slate of qualified prospects and candidates.

Candidate quality and engagement: The candidates you develop meet established search criteria and remain informed, interested, and engaged throughout the process.

What You Bring

We’re looking for an experienced recruiter who combines persistence and curiosity with excellent judgment, communication skills, and attention to detail.

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree; a healthcare-related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in retained executive search or healthcare recruitment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and engage candidates through LinkedIn and other sourcing channels.
  • Strong Internet research and Boolean search skills.
  • Experience using recruiting databases and research tools such as ZoomInfo.
  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems; Bullhorn experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Teams, and Excel.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills, with the ability to produce polished, client-ready work.
  • Excellent verbal communication and active-listening skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple leaders in a collaborative, matrixed environment.
  • Ability to receive feedback, adapt quickly, and continuously improve.
  • Self-motivation and discipline to thrive in a remote work environment.
  • Ability to meet applicable E-Verify requirements.

A Master’s degree in Nursing, Human Resource Management, or another relevant discipline is a plus.

The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here

You may be a great fit if you’re someone who gets genuine satisfaction from finding the person others couldn’t find.

You’re naturally curious. You enjoy researching people, organizations, and career paths. You know that great recruiting is about more than sending messages—it requires listening carefully, asking insightful questions, building trust, exercising good judgment, and following through.

You’re comfortable working independently but enjoy being part of a highly collaborative search team. You care about the details because you understand that every candidate interaction reflects on Kirby Bates and our clients.

And you want your work to have meaning. Helping healthcare organizations find exceptional leaders gives you exactly that opportunity.

About the Position

This is a full-time, remote position. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with occasional additional time required based on search, candidate, client, meeting, or event needs.
