Executive Project DirectorJob Announcement For External UseLocation: Washington, DCGroup/Practice/Unit: Global Impact Hub, Program Delivery UnitContingent to fundingJob SummaryThe Executive Project Director (EPD) will lead an anticipated project that supports civil society and media in Latin America and the Caribbean. The EPD will be a creative and dynamic leader, assisting in the oversight of staff and project implementation to ensure that objectives are met on time and within budget.
***This position is contingent upon funding***Your Background & Skills- Master's degree in the social sciences, public policy, law, international studies, community development, finance, media and communications, cybersecurity, business, international development, or other equivalent professional degree. A bachelor's degree with two (2) additional years of relevant experience beyond the minimum required years of work experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
- Eight (8) years of related work experience in managing donor-supported programming that occurred in the geographic area of focus (specify countries and regions in the application) in the relevant areas of media, democracy, and/or governance, with substantial experience relevant to activity objectives.
- Demonstrated experience working with and empowering local partners.
- Demonstrated record of achieving results through sustainable efforts involving local and regional organizations and actors; innovative and experimental programmatic approaches; applied and iterative technical learning; flexible and adaptive programming; and the mainstreaming of safety and security considerations into technical and operational project management.
- Demonstrated experience of working with and connecting beneficiaries and partners in a variety of formats and locations and cross-regionally including online, in-person, inside and outside of the country.
- English and Spanish proficiency are required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
Your Daily Tasks - Provide strategic and technical leadership to the project; deploy innovative and adaptive project implementation that engages a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ensures project activities are efficiently implemented on schedule and within budget; responsively adapting to changes and lessons learned throughout implementation.
- Provides financial oversight and budget management; assists in financial management of subgrantees.
- Supports in the drafting of complex documents, including program reports and evaluations.
- Reviews and provides quality control of program's technical products
- Oversees project budgeting, financial management, and compliance.
- Oversees monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of program activities.
- Represents IREX publicly and support its organizational development.
- Supervise, manage, and mentor project staff.
- Other support duties as needed.
