Your Role on the Team

The Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions manages the organization-wide undergraduate admissions function providing strategic leadership and management to recruit, admit and enroll students from secondary and post-secondary institutions. Initiates policy and changes in procedure to meet Academic Senate goals. Advises senior management on outreach or admissions strategy that will impact organization policies. Manages program budgets. Represents the undergraduate admissions programs internally and externally to advise and support academic and administrative units who in turn serve students to ultimately achieve university goals, most importantly, to position UCI as a top-choice institution for college enrollment. Enrollment Management is a coordinating body which pulls together these academic and administrative functions to holistically serve and represent the institution.

Required:
  • Expert knowledge of admissions and outreach programs.
  • Advanced knowledge of University processes, protocols, and procedures for budget, account, and fund management.
  • Knowledge of personnel management of labor contracts and personnel policy.
  • Strong understanding of University rules and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis and reporting techniques.
  • Knowledge of human resources and risk management planning.
  • Skills in conflict management, complex problem-solving, and resource and time management.
  • Creativity and originality in problem-solving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other campus entities.
  • Skills in monitoring people, processes, or services for evaluation and improvement.
  • Skills in project management.
  • Ability to communicate persuasively and tactfully in politically nuanced situations. Strong leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience. Previous experience leading or supervising a team.


Preferred:
  • Knowledge of State, federal and University policies governing the disclosure of student information.
  • Experience with continuous improvement using process improvement principles.
  • Experience with client/relationship management (CRM) and/or operations management systems.


Special Conditions:
  • Occasional nights/weekends required.
  • Employment is subject to a DOJ background check.
  • Employee is required to sign a confidentiality/conflict of interest disclosure.
  • Must have the ability to travel outside the US.
  • Frequent travel outside of normal business hours.
