Description

Strategic & Executive Leadership
  • Develop and execute a multi-year strategic fundraising and engagement plan
  • Partner with Foundation Board leadership and hospital executives to align philanthropic priorities with organizational goals
  • Serve as a visible external representative and spokesperson for the Foundation
  • Build a culture of philanthropy across hospital and community stakeholders

Philanthropy & Revenue Development
  • Lead all fundraising strategy and execution, including:
    • Major gifts
    • Corporate partnerships
    • Foundation grants
    • Planned giving
    • Annual campaigns
    • Signature fundraising events
  • Personally manage and grow a portfolio of high-capacity donors and strategic partners
  • Build systems for donor cultivation, stewardship, recognition, and retention
  • Advance campaign readiness and long-term fundraising sustainability

BOARD PARTNERSHIP & GOVERNANCE
  • Serve as primary liaison to the Foundation Board
  • Support board recruitment, engagement, and committee management
  • Partner with board members to strengthen fundraising participation and community reach
  • Ensure strong governance practices and strategic board engagement

COMMUNITY & EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
  • Build relationships with civic leaders, healthcare organizations, philanthropic institutions, businesses, and community-based organizations
  • Represent the Foundation at public events, donor engagements, and community forums
  • Advance messaging that reflects dignity, trust, equity, and community partnership

OPERATIONS & ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP
  • Oversee Foundation operations, financial management, and administrative systems
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit governance and fundraising regulations
  • Develop reporting systems and performance dashboards
  • Support growth of development operations and fundraising infrastructure

Leadership & Executive Presence
  • Ability to inspire confidence across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Strong strategic thinking and organizational leadership capabilities

Fundraising Expertise
  • Demonstrated success securing major gifts and institutional funding

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 7-10 years of leadership experience in nonprofit development, healthcare philanthropy, foundation leadership, or related sectors
  • Healthcare or hospital foundation experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Nashville/Middle Tennessee philanthropic landscape preferred
