Key Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Vice President, Head of Medical Excellence and serves as a member of the Medical Excellence Leadership Team

  • Leads the organizational integration of Medical Communications Excellence and Medical Digital Engagement into a single, high-performing team — establishing a unified culture, shared operating model, and clear roles and accountabilities that leverage the full capability of both organizations

  • Serves as the enterprise center of excellence and trusted strategic advisor to TA-embedded Medical Communications leads — elevating scientific narrative strategies, strengthening communications standards, and ensuring enterprise-wide consistency in how BMS tells its scientific story across assets and indications

  • Establishes enterprise standards, frameworks, and best practices for scientific narrative development — ensuring TA Medical Communications teams have the tools, guidance, and strategic support to develop differentiated, evidence-based narratives that resonate with HCPs, patients, and payers

  • Drives the pull-through of TA scientific strategies into integrated digital channel execution — ensuring scientific narratives developed at the asset level are amplified, personalized, and measured across web, social media, digital medical education, and congress digital channels

  • Develops and implements a unified strategy for medical communications and digital engagement, integrating content and engagement insights from customers (HCPs, patients, payers) to ensure a data-driven, customer-focused approach to scientific communications and channel strategy

  • Develops and implements comprehensive end-to-end strategies for optimizing external medical communications, including publications, medical education, and content development across all TAs and assets, alongside an integrated digital channel strategy and measurement plan

  • Leads the development and evolution of digital, AI, and technology strategy to meet business needs through a personalized omni-channel approach — remaining current with the external digital and AI landscape to broaden reach and deepen engagement of BMS's scientific communications

  • Drives innovation in medical communications and digital engagement, leveraging AI-enabled tools, digital methodologies, and data analytics to enhance communication effectiveness, efficiency, and impact

  • Defines and owns the measurement and impact framework for medical communications and digital engagement — establishing clear metrics, KPIs, and value narratives that demonstrate the contribution of communications activities to Medical Affairs outcomes and patient-facing results

  • Optimizes resource allocation and financial expenditures across the function, identifying opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and investment in future capabilities

  • Builds, leads, and develops a high-performing, inclusive team — fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, scientific rigor, customer focus, personal accountability, and commitment to results
