Executive Director-Internal Communications serves as the enterprise leader for Internal Communications at IU Health, shaping how team members understand, experience and engage with the organization's mission, strategy, priorities and culture. As member of the Communications Executive Leadership Team, this leader guides the strategy for internal communications across the system, ensuring clear, consistent content that strengthens organizational connection, aligns with our values, drives engagement and supports business objectives.
Leading a high-performing team of communications professionals, the executive director serves as a trusted advisor and strategic business partner to senior leaders and stakeholders across the organization. The role leads integrated internal communications strategies that advance enterprise priorities, support change initiatives and drive alignment across a complex healthcare system. This leader supports a positive team member experience, which includes establishing communication standards and collaborating to create a consistent approach to messaging across regions, functions and audiences.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, collaborative and business-minded leader who understands the critical role communications plays in developing solutions that advance organizational performance and culture. They bring strong executive presence, exceptional judgment and a proven ability to translate complex business priorities into meaningful, action-oriented communications that inspire understanding and engagement.

Candidate QualificationsCandidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.
- Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
- Requires 10 plus years of relevant experience.
- Requires 4 years of people leader experience.
- Requires experience managing multiple complex and often confidential projects involving multiple customers, interests and goals.
- Requires experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
