Job Description and Requirements

Executive Director of Enterprise Technology

You have built and led enterprise technology organizations where the work directly affects national security, competitive positioning, and operational resilience. Over the course of your career, you have learned that the role of a technology executive is not to chase trends but to make deliberate choices about where to invest, what to protect, and how to enable the business to move with confidence.

You understand the weight of compliance frameworks like CMMC, NIST, and DFARS because you have implemented them in environments where failure to meet requirements means lost contracts, regulatory exposure, or compromised missions. You know how to build programs that satisfy auditors and regulators without paralyzing the organization, and you have earned credibility with both technical teams and executive leadership by delivering on both fronts.

Your leadership style is grounded in clarity and accountability. You set direction, you build capable teams, and you hold the line on what matters. When a board member asks about cyber risk, you answer in terms of business impact and mitigation strategy. When an engineer needs a decision on architecture, you provide it with context and rationale. You operate comfortably at both altitudes.

At Ansys Government Initiatives, you will lead the enterprise technology and cybersecurity function for an organization operating at the intersection of commercial innovation and government mission requirements. The environment is complex, the standards are high, and the work has consequence.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Define and execute enterprise technology strategy across infrastructure, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, cybersecurity operations, data platforms, and IT service delivery in support of commercial growth and government program requirements
  • Serve as principal technology advisor to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors on technology investment priorities, digital transformation roadmaps, cybersecurity risk posture, and emerging technology adoption including artificial intelligence
  • Lead enterprise cybersecurity governance, operations, and risk management across Security Operations Center, incident response, threat intelligence, security architecture, vulnerability management, identity security, and data protection functions
  • Maintain compliance and audit readiness for CMMC Level 2, NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, export controls, and government contracting requirements, serving as executive sponsor for all regulatory assessments, certifications, and third-party audits
  • Build and develop a high-performing technology leadership team accountable for operational excellence, service delivery, innovation, and alignment with business objectives across a global organization
  • Develop multi-year technology investment roadmaps, annual operating budgets, business cases, and capital allocation strategies aligned with enterprise growth priorities and market opportunities
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives that modernize business processes, automate operations, integrate AI capabilities, and enable data-driven decision-making across the enterprise
The Impact You Will Have
  • Your technology strategy will directly enable Ansys Government Initiatives to compete for and deliver on high-value government contracts while maintaining the agility required for commercial market leadership
  • Your cybersecurity leadership will establish and sustain a defensible posture that protects intellectual property, customer data, and Controlled Unclassified Information across a global enterprise operating under stringent regulatory requirements
  • Your compliance programs will ensure audit readiness and regulatory adherence, reducing organizational risk and enabling business development teams to pursue opportunities with confidence in our security posture
  • Your technology investments and architecture decisions will shape how the organization operates, collaborates, and delivers value to customers in both commercial and government markets
  • Your executive leadership will translate complex technology risks and opportunities into actionable business intelligence for the Board, C-suite, customers, and regulatory stakeholders
  • Your organizational development will build a technology function capable of supporting both mission-critical government programs and commercial innovation without compromise to security, performance, or compliance
  • Your governance frameworks will provide executive visibility into technology performance, cyber risk, and operational resilience, enabling informed decision-making at the highest levels of the organization
What You'll Need
  • 10+ years in senior executive leadership roles with enterprise-wide accountability for technology strategy, cybersecurity operations, and IT service delivery
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Business, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise technology and cybersecurity organizations in defense, aerospace, federal contracting, or highly regulated industries requiring CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, or comparable regulatory compliance
  • Proven track record building and maintaining compliance programs that satisfy government contracting requirements while enabling operational efficiency and business growth
  • Extensive experience presenting technology strategy, cybersecurity risk assessments, and investment recommendations to Boards of Directors, Audit Committees, government customers, and regulatory authorities
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence cross-functional leadership, negotiate strategic partnerships, and represent the organization in high-stakes customer, investor, and regulatory engagements
  • Professional certifications such as CISM, CISA, CRISC, or CISSP are highly valued
Who You Are
  • You communicate technology strategy and cyber risk in business terms that resonate with boards, investors, and government customers, translating technical complexity into clear strategic implications and recommended actions
  • You have built technology organizations that execute with discipline, and you know how to diagnose when a team is underperforming and what interventions will move the needle
  • You make decisions with incomplete information, balancing risk and opportunity without defaulting to analysis paralysis or reckless speed
  • You understand that compliance is a business enabler in regulated markets, and you build programs that meet requirements without creating unnecessary friction or bureaucracy
  • You have managed enterprise technology through major incidents, audits, or regulatory reviews, and you remain composed under pressure while maintaining stakeholder confidence and team focus
  • You hold yourself and your organization accountable to measurable outcomes, and you establish metrics that matter rather than metrics that simply look good in presentations
