Executive Director, CSRO

JOB TITLE(s): Executive Director
CLIENT ASSOCIATION(s): CSRO, Coalition of State Rheumatology Organizations
POSITION REPORTS TO: EDI Consulting Partner
DIRECT REPORTS: Administrative/Meeting Manager, Communications/Membership Manager
EMPLOYEE STATUS: Exempt, Full-time (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week)
ROLE TYPE/LEVEL: Senior Level

CLIENT/DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW: CSRO is a coalition dedicated to empowering rheumatologists and their practices by actively advocating on the state and national level, focusing on educating legislators, government officials and the corporate community on the impact that policy and procedural changes may have to the patient's quality of care. This is also accomplished with two educational meetings, one programmed on advocacy issues and one focused on practice issues for rheumatologic fellows.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Closely monitors association activities and provides important decision-making information to association leadership. Provides professional direction and support for all client activities, projects, meetings and campaigns.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (minimum of 37.5 hours/week):
  • Manage the grant/fundraising development for CSRO.
  • Oversee implementation of strategic goals as directed by Board president.
  • Oversee legal responsibilities of the organization (taxes, bylaws, contracts, etc.).
  • Oversee financial activities, including payment of invoices, budget preparation, monthly financial records, annual audit, etc.
  • Supervise day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the association.
  • Oversee development and publication printed materials and other communications (broadcast emails, faxes, mail, etc.) to members.
  • Oversee committee infrastructure and activities.
  • Oversee maintenance and updates of the client website.
  • Coordinate agendas and other materials for Board meetings and conference calls.
  • Attend and facilitate in-person Board meetings.
  • Attend and facilitate committee conference calls.
  • Take and distribute minutes of Board and committee meetings and conference calls.
  • Attend the Rheumatology Fellows education meeting and provide support and staff oversight for all related functions.
  • Represent CSRO at related meetings when appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree or professional experience in a related field and excellent written and verbal skills. Association Management experience preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIRED:

Approximately 15 days per year.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a full-time position located in our office in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (lifting, packaging, etc.)

Minimal lifting required. Ability to move quickly within meeting facilities.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Early morning, evening and weekend work may be required to meet client needs. Attendance at the Fellows conference, Advocacy conference, American College of Rheumatology (ACR) annual meeting and other state society meetings is required.

Three to Four regular evening conference calls per month are required.
