What You'll Be Doing:

As the Executive Director II, Corporate Credit Risk, you will form an integral part of the Corporate Credit team and will be accountable to the Vice-President, US Corporate Credit, Global Credit Risk Management for the management and adjudication of a Corporate Loan portfolio focused on US Diversified, Power and Utilities, Project Finance and Infrastructure, and Leveraged Lending credits. As a senior credit risk adjudicator, your role will focus on the Project Finance and Infrastructure Industry, while supporting the other industries in the portfolio. In addition, Corporate Credit will provide advice and counsel to Line of Business partners in fulfillment of the corporate credit risk components of strategic plans. You will work closely and collaboratively with our business partners to understand, measure, and monitor risk and adhere to CIBC's policies in order to maintain a risk profile that is consistent with a prudently run financial institution.

How You'll Succeed:

  • Meetings - Attend client meetings with front-line relationship managers as appropriate.
  • Advise - Provide constructive advice and guidance to relationship managers on credit transactions, within CIBC's credit policies and guidelines and CIBC's risk appetite.
  • Compliance - Demonstrate a keen understanding of current and developing regulatory issues, as well as CIBC credit policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Risk Management - Effectively utilize CIBC risk rating methodologies to ensure an objective and accurate assessment of risk in credit transactions.
  • Consult - Provide consulting and assistance as a subject matter expert to influence the development, implementation and management of policies and programs related to the sector(s) covered.


Who You Are:
  • You can demonstrate experience. A seasoned credit professional with Corporate Banking experience, managing large corporate credit deals with a focus on Project Finance and Infrastructure, and having some experience the other industries in our portfolio. It's an asset if you have credit risk experience.
  • You can demonstrate knowledge. Deep Project Finance and Infrastructure credit structuring knowledge, ranging from Ports, Toll Roads, Digital Infrastructure and LNG to Wind and Solar projects.
  • You have a degree. In Business/Finance/Accounting, MBA and/or equivalent.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of USD$265,000 - 310,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
