Job Description

The EVP, NA Climate+ and Energy Industry Practices Leader will provide enterprise-level leadership in partnership with adjacent industry practice leaders, line of business managers, and the field to shape and execute strategy and tactics that drive profitable growth, underwriting discipline, and long-term market leadership.

We are open to considering candidates in the eastern United States.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set the strategic direction for the Industry Practice, developing and executing business plans that align with Chubb's enterprise priorities, financial objectives, and long-term growth agenda.
  • Own accountability for the performance of the Industry Practice, including underwriting strategy, pre-bind discipline, profitability, retention, growth, and overall portfolio health.
  • Establish short- and long-term goals, operating priorities, and forecast assumptions to drive sustainable revenue growth and market leadership.
  • Lead market-facing efforts to elevate Chubb's presence in the industry, including agency engagement, client presentations, trade shows, alliances, and other external relationship-building activities.
  • Shape and refine industry strategy, policy form usage, and underwriting approaches to ensure alignment with corporate underwriting standards and compliance expectations.
  • Monitor performance against plan, identify emerging issues, manage costs, and maintain strong underwriting integrity across the portfolio.
  • Develop positioning and pricing strategies that support profitable growth and strengthen Chubb's competitive advantage in the market.
  • Make sound account-level decisions that balance growth, risk selection, and long-term profitability.
  • Partner closely with Regional Managers, Underwriting Specialists, and Executive/Field Underwriters to ensure consistent execution of strategy across the field.
  • Collaborate with industry practice leaders, line of business partners, general counsel, actuarial, data analytics, and other senior stakeholders to inform strategy and execution.
  • Represent the Industry Practice externally and internally as a senior leader, with travel across North America as needed to support business objectives.


Qualifications

  • Deep experience in commercial property and casualty insurance, with demonstrated expertise in underwriting strategy, portfolio management, pricing, and profitability.
  • Proven track record leading industry practice, segment, or line-of-business initiatives within a large, matrixed insurance organization.
  • Experience working with senior underwriting leaders, product managers, actuaries, claims, legal, data analytics, and field distribution partners to drive business results.
  • Experience developing and executing business plans that balance growth, retention, underwriting discipline, and long-term profitability.
  • Demonstrated success in market-facing leadership, including broker/agency engagement, client presentations, and external relationship management.
  • Experience influencing policy, pricing, and portfolio decisions in support of enterprise underwriting objectives.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of commercial underwriting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the energy industry and related exposures, with the ability to translate industry trends into underwriting strategy and growth opportunities.


The pay range for the role is $225,000 to $275,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
