About You

You are a highly technical, seasoned leader who remembers what it takes to write great code - because you used to be a Senior Software Engineer yourself. You deeply understand how engineers work, think, and thrive. You are a strategic thinker able to articulate a vision, but you are also deeply pragmatic, well-versed in Agile methodologies, and an expert in driving experiment-driven development within a Product-Led Growth (PLG) environment.

You are a talent magnet, capable of attracting, hiring, and retaining top-tier engineering talent, including Staff+ level engineers. You are passionate about high performance, putting the development of your team and the delivery of high-quality, scalable software above all else. You pride yourself on clear, transparent communication, seamlessly bridging the gap between highly technical engineers and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Scale: Direct, mentor, and grow a team of ~9 direct reports spread across our Core (PLG) and DataIQ (AI/Agents) teams.
  • Hire Top Talent: Act as a talent magnet, identifying, attracting, and successfully hiring highly senior engineering talent (Staff+).
  • Drive PLG & Experimentation: Champion experiment-driven development (A/B testing, rapid prototyping) to support our Product-Led Growth model, ensuring we build features that directly drive user acquisition, retention, and monetization.
  • Deliver AI Innovation: Oversee the technical execution of our DataIQ team, guiding the development of cutting-edge, first-class AI features and Agents.
  • Process Excellence: Lead all aspects of the software development lifecycle across multiple pods. Leverage your deep Agile expertise to continually improve team processes, cadence, and predictability.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the technical translator and strategic partner. Communicate clearly and effectively with product management, engineering peers, executive leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Foster Growth: Manage performance, provide ongoing coaching, and actively seek out opportunities to develop your engineers to their full potential.

Skills and Qualifications needed for this role:
  • Technical Pedigree: 7+ years of overall software engineering experience, including a proven track record as a Senior Software Engineer prior to moving into management.
  • Leadership Experience: 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams, ideally managing multiple pods or a team of 7+ engineers.
  • PLG & Agile Mastery: Deep understanding of the Product-Led Growth (PLG) model, experiment-driven development, and modern Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Recruiting Chops: Demonstrated success in interviewing, closing, and managing highly senior engineers.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a broad range of audiences, including non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Technical Foundation: Demonstrated technical leadership in full-stack web/mobile development. Proficiency in modern languages and frameworks (ideally TypeScript, React, Node.js, and MongoDB/PostgreSQL).
  • Remote Leadership: Experience effectively leading, motivating, and fostering a strong culture within a remote or distributed work environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice to Haves:
  • Experience leading teams building AI products, LLM integrations, or autonomous Agents.
  • Production experience working with massively adopted (100k+ users) mobile applications.
  • Experience with payment concepts, APIs, and fintech integrations.
