Overview

As a leader on our events marketing team, you are passionate about delivering exceptional event experiences for our users while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team. Your planning and execution strengths ensure the success of Esri trade shows and conferences, and you drive team engagement through mentorship, strategic direction, and resourceful problem-solving. Known for your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and deadline-driven approach, you deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, adjusting seamlessly to shifting priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and Develop the Team. Mentor, guide, and inspire team members by setting clear goals, offering constructive feedback, and providing growth opportunities. Lead the team through regular performance reviews, coaching, and development activities to build skill sets and advance careers. Act as a role model in professionalism, initiative, and adaptability.
  • Strategic Collaboration and Communication. Cultivate relationships and productive partnerships across Esri and with external stakeholders. Lead collaboration to achieve event marketing goals and leverage business insights for impactful communication. Shape the team's strategies by contributing insights to event planning and marketing efforts.
  • Manage and Oversee Event Execution. Lead aspects of critical, large-scale events, from inception to completion. Guide the team in event preparation, oversee day-of coordination, conduct post-event debriefs, and document program processes for future success. Ensure each event reflects Esri's brand and mission through strategic, detail-oriented planning.
  • Organize and Coordinate Resources. Manage event logistics, including communication, food and beverage, AV, internet, security, and electrical needs. Guide the team in identifying potential issues, maintaining accountability, and delivering high-quality results.
  • Drive Innovation and Continuous Improvement. Analyze industry trends and competitor events to refine Esri's approach. Lead the team in implementing new practices and developing creative solutions to meet changing event demands and maximize impact. Share insights and strategies with leadership to drive forward-thinking event planning.
  • Measure Success. Regularly update marketing leadership on event metrics, trends, and strategies for success. Review budgets with the team, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and transparency in financial reporting.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience working in events, or the hospitality industry
  • 3+ years of experience mentoring, motivating, and coaching a team
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team, with demonstrated experience in a managerial or team lead role
  • Strong adaptability in dynamic, high-pressure environments, and proficiency in prioritizing multiple tasks
  • Skilled in managing and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including executives
  • Experience with events management software such as Exhibit Force and Rainfocus
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%
