Full Job Description
• Snapshot of the Role:
MasterClass is looking for an Events Manager to own live events end to end, with an initial focus on MasterClass Executive, our cohort-based business education program. You'll produce the weekly virtual sessions that anchor each cohort, intimate learner gatherings, and the multi-day in-person experience that serves as a high point of the program.
As MasterClass expands cohort-based programming across Executive, Certificates, and other products, you'll also help build the operational foundation for a centralized Events function supporting live experiences across the business.
• What You Will Do:
• Own end-to-end production of live virtual sessions for MasterClass Executive and Certificates, including scheduling, run of show, rehearsals, speaker prep, platform setup, moderation, Q&A, and real-time troubleshooting.
• Plan and execute in-person experiences, from smaller dinners and gatherings to the multi-day MasterClass Executive cohort experience, including venues, production, AV, vendors, travel, and on-site execution.
• Manage the overarching MasterClass events calendar, coordinating instructor and practitioner availability, programming needs, and learner time zones.
• Serve as the primary logistics partner for instructors, guest practitioners, and their teams, ensuring every experience feels seamless from preparation through day-of execution.
• Build scalable event operations, including run-of-show templates, production checklists, escalation paths, backup plans, and post-event workflows.
• Own event budgets, vendors, contracts, and negotiations, making thoughtful tradeoffs across scope, quality, and cost.
• Partner closely with Community, Marketing, Product, and channel leads to drive attendance and create a strong learner experience before, during, and after events.
• Use event data, feedback, and AI-enabled tools to continuously improve programming and scale the Events function.
• About You (Requirements):
• 6+ years of event management, production, or experiential programming experience across both recurring virtual events and multi-day in-person experiences.
• Deep experience producing live virtual programming and the ability to troubleshoot calmly and resourcefully while an event is live.
• Proven experience managing venues, vendors, AV, contracts, budgets, and on-site event execution.
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a weekly programming cadence alongside larger event builds.
• Strong communicator who is comfortable working directly with high-profile speakers, executives, talent, and their teams.
• Comfortable using event technology, data, and emerging AI tools to improve operations and the learner experience.
• Willing to travel for in-person events and flex working hours around live programming across time zones.
• This role is open to applicants based in the following locations: AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, MA, MI, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, TN, TX, UT, WA or Ontario and British Columbia, Canada.
The salary range listed is for NYC/CA/WA. As a company, we have a location based strategy, which means the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.
