Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to successfully complete bids under pressure while mentoring junior staff.
  • Produce accurate and organized estimates across various bidding types.
  • Organize and adapt sub-contractor quotes post-bid acceptance, aiding the buy-out process.
  • Monitor project success and address potential challenges with sub-trade relationships.
  • Distribute and review subcontractor quotes, highlighting risks and collaborating with management on bid pricing.
  • Maintain essential databases for labor rates, material costs, and project expenditures.

Full Job Description
You as a Senior Estimator will:

  • Confidently lead a team through the completion of a bid process under pressure; mentor and train junior estimating staff
  • Assemble accurate, timely and well-organized estimates, including hard-bid, construction management and design-build
  • Organize sub-contractor quotes when the bid is successful, re-writing binders and assisting the buy-out process
  • Monitor the success of a project, noting potential challenges and building relationships with sub-trades for future opportunities
  • Distribute sub-trade quotes to personnel, flagging areas of concern and coordinating with management to accommodate risk within the bid price
  • Maintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs, for future reference


Is this the right role for you?

  • 10+ years of experience in ICI estimating or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • You have an advanced knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts as well as conceptual estimating and unit costs
  • You have the ability to work effectively and accurately in time-sensitive situations while delegating to a team
  • You have the ability to work independently & have the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively.
  • You have experience using various takeoff software, specifically either CostX or BlueBeam.


The salary range for this is $100,000 - $135,000
