JOB SUMMARY

Prepare complete estimates for assigned project(s) of any size and complexity either directly or through subordinate personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience.
  • Four to seven years estimating, cost control and/or engineering experience in construction.


KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills are essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control, plus the ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems essential.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures.
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
  • Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to particular bid/project as assigned.
  • Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimates and figures.
  • Interface with owner, A/E, and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.
  • Follow awarded contracts as assigned - may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring material, etc.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • $85,000 - $120,000
  • Benefits Day 1 - Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Basic Life Insurance, Contributory Life Insurance, AD&D Insurance, HSA, FSA, FSA - Dependent Care; Benefits - 1st of the Month - Short Term Disability
