Compensation: $112.000 to $124.500 per year + discretionary annual target bonus at 12.5% -18.75%

Position Overview

The Estimator/Coordinator supports Dufferin Construction's Alternative Delivery Model (ADM) business by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, supporting contract administration activities, and developing proposal-based submissions. This role is responsible for bid and proposal preparation, cost forecasting, and coordination with internal teams, customers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery while adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare complete and accurate cost estimates for Alternative Delivery Model Projects based on drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Analyze quantities, material pricing, labor costs, and subcontractor pricing Make independent decisions related to estimating and coordinating activities within established guidelines
  • Represent Dufferin Construction in negotiations with customers and subcontractors regarding contracts, change orders, extras, disputes, and claims
  • Set up new contracts in accordance with company procedures
  • Coordinate contract administration with the Project Superintendent, including general conditions and customer relations
  • Advise Project Superintendent on contract interpretation and cost control matters
  • Supervise and coordinate the processing of contract documentation
  • Liaise with Contracts and Credit departments regarding account collection
  • Provide field personnel with all necessary information to support successful contract execution
  • Accurately forecast the financial performance and outcomes of assigned projects
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, estimators, and design partners to obtain scopes, pricing inputs, and technical clarifications.
  • Lead bid preparation and submission for complex proposals, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Coordinate RFQ/RFP pursuit activities, ensuring all submission requirements, formats, and deadlines are met.
  • Facilitate collaboration between design teams, estimators, schedulers, construction managers, and external consultants to align technical inputs with pursuit strategy.
  • Manage pursuit schedules, track deliverables, and maintain version control across all proposal documents.Lead information gathering, including design criteria, project requirements, and technical data needed for proposal development.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5+ years of construction related experience.
  • Valid 'G' driver's license
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required Strong knowledge of estimating methodologies, bid preparation, and cost control
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Strong understanding of contracts, change management, and project financials
  • High level of computer literacy and proficiency with estimating and office software
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
