What We Are Looking For

Seeking a Cost Estimator with Oil and Gas experience. Successful candidate will provide cost estimating support for natural gas projects, including high-pressure transmission pipelines, compression facilities, and metering/interconnect facilities.

*Job level will be determined based on experience and industry knowledge.

What You Will Do

What You Will Do:
  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates including but not limited to; materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor bids, permits, and land costs.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and scope documents related to natural gas pipeline construction and maintenance projects.
  • Participate in estimate scoping and review meetings and respond promptly to inquiries.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of estimating data, assumptions, and revisions for audit and future use.
  • Communicate effectively with Project Managers, business sponsors, and other project team members through strong written and verbal communication.
  • Work with cross-functional teams with tact, courtesy, and professionalism, including Operations, Procurement, Environmental, Right of Way, Legal, and Safety.
  • Stay current on industry trends, material costs, labor rates, and regulatory changes impacting natural gas infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure ongoing improvement through evaluation of current processes.
  • Maintain attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness when completing assigned work.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management, organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of performance.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.

Education:
  • Degree in a technical field, such as Construction Management or a related discipline, preferred.
  • Previous Estimating and/or Field experience will also be considered.

Required Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of upstream, midstream, and downstream projects.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills and logical thought process.
  • Must be able to successfully and simultaneously manage multiple tasks, and work with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to present ideas, proposals, and results to Project Management and internal and external customers.
  • Familiarity with unit rates, material and equipment pricing, labor pricing, and other estimate components and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with natural gas pipelines, compression stations, and measurement facilities for gas transmission service.
  • Understanding of pipeline construction and maintenance techniques, materials, and equipment specific to natural gas infrastructure
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project scheduling software.

Working Conditions:
  • Position to be filled in Houston, TX.
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office environment and will involve extended periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer.
  • Occasional field travel may be required to support the development of specific cost estimates, attend conferences, or participate in meetings.
  • Must be able to pass the company background check and drug test.
