Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial tenant improvement and new build projects, ranging from $50,000 to $1,000,000.

Full Job Description
Position Title: Estimator

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established commercial construction company and play a key role in winning and delivering impactful projects throughout the region. As the Estimator, you will be at the center of the preconstruction process, developing accurate bids, analyzing project plans, and helping drive strategic decisions that directly impact the company's continued growth. Beyond estimating, this role offers the chance to bring fresh ideas, implement new technologies, and help modernize an evolving department that is eager to embrace innovation. Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 / Year DOE

Estimator Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and gather all necessary project information to prepare accurate and competitive estimates
  • Analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine material quantities, labor requirements, and project scope
  • Prepare and submit project bids and proposals, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project requirements
  • Support the sales team by researching and evaluating labor costs, material pricing, production rates, and subcontractor quotes to develop reliable cost estimates
  • Prepare cost breakdowns and bid summary reports that clearly outline pricing assumptions and total project costs
  • Collaborate with project managers, operations, and vendors to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions and execution plans
  • Manage typical projects primarily in commercial tenant improvement and new builds, with project sizes ranging from $50,000 to $1,000,000

Estimator Requirements:
  • Must have 4+ years of construction estimating experience, particularly in walls, ceilings, or painting
  • Experience with Division 9 finishes or closely related commercial finishes is essential
  • Extremely strong skills in proposals and takeoffs
  • Strong base knowledge in analyzing blueprints, understanding labor requirements, and submitting bids and proposals
  • Proficient in software and technology relevant to estimating
  • Future management potential is appreciated
  • Experience implementing or improving estimating tools, such as AI and modern workflows, is preferred
