Position DescriptionAuburn Mechanical is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to support our commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal projects. This role is responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, coordinating bid activities, and working closely with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to help secure new work.
What You'll Do- Prepare cost estimates from plans, specifications, and project documents.
- Develop bid proposals, schedules, and supporting bid documentation.
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Support preconstruction activities and project setup.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and estimating strategy discussions.
- Assist with submittals, procurement, bid bonds, and work recovery requests.
Position RequirementsQualifications- Associate's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of four (4) years of construction estimating experience, mechanical construction field experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, piping, or sheet metal systems is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft and Bluebeam
