JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced ERP Functional Manager to join our team at Cherokee Nation Businesses, LLC. In this role, you will provide functional expertise and strategic direction for our Oracle enterprise applications, particularly Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials and Oracle EPM. Your primary focus will be to ensure that our systems and processes meet accounting standards, maintain strong internal controls, and support our organizational objectives. You will collaborate closely with accounting, finance, and IT teams, as well as implementation partners, to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-wide business processes. Your contributions will be vital in advancing our digital transformation journey, strengthening financial operations, and maximizing the value of our Oracle Cloud ERP and EPM investments.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serves as the finance functional owner and enterprise authority for Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials and Oracle EPM, providing functional leadership across finance and accounting while partnering with IT on technical execution.
  • Leads finance application governance, including chart of accounts, workflows, approval hierarchies, security access, and internal controls to support effective financial operations.
  • Evaluates Oracle functionality, quarterly releases, AI capabilities, and product roadmap enhancements, recommending adoption where business value is demonstrated.
  • Partners with finance stakeholders, IT, and implementation partners to analyze business processes, define functional requirements, translate business needs into system solutions, and support solution design, configuration, and optimization using Oracle best practices.
  • Ensures Oracle solutions comply with accounting standards, operational requirements, organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls while supporting internal and external audit activities.
  • Ensures data integrity, reporting accuracy, and consistent financial processing across modules.
  • Provides functional leadership for Oracle Enterprise Performance Management, including financial close and consolidation, account reconciliation, reporting, budgeting, and planning, while ensuring alignment between ERP and EPM data, structures, and processes.
  • Designs and maintains Oracle financial reports, dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting solutions, partnering with finance leadership to ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and meaningful business insights.
  • Leads finance participation in Oracle implementations, quarterly updates, and enhancements by coordinating conference room pilots (CRPs), user acceptance testing (UAT), test script development, business scenario validation, release impact assessments, functional defect resolution, and production readiness.
  • Lead finance continuous improvement initiatives by identifying automation opportunities, strengthening internal controls, streamlining business processes, advancing digital transformation, and promoting AI adoption and enterprise process standardization.
  • Serves as the primary functional liaison between finance, accounting, IT, executive leadership, and implementation partners, communicating project status, risks, recommendations, and strategic opportunities while advising leadership.
  • Manages multiple projects without having direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • Leads and/or guides the work of other employees.
  • Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor27s degree in finance, accounting, business, or other related field, and at least ten (10) years of functional/technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six (6) years of experience with Oracle Cloud ERP Finance, Time & Labor, or other enterprise financial/timekeeping systems preferred.
  • Experience in public sector or governmental accounting environments preferred.
  • Experience supporting large, complex organizations.
  • Experience reviewing financial impacts of time and costing to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Cloud ERP Finance, including costing, GL interface, chart of accounts, financial integrations, and accounting configuration.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products.
  • Advanced communication skills including the ability to explain functional requirements to technical staff and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead testing efforts, analyze complex data, and identify process or configuration improvements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to deliver outstanding customer service while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ability to maintain strong internal controls while identifying and implementing operational efficiency improvements.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail while ensuring data accuracy.
