Responsibilities

  • Drive the implementation and tracking of Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) on the Operations side.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to uphold robust Configuration Management practices during ECN development.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the current use of SAP ERP for BOM and routing related tasks.
  • Key participant in the rollout of INFICON's Manufacturing Execution System (MES), ensuring integrated production routings and work instructions.
  • Diagnose and resolve production floor issues related to BOMs and routing discrepancies, addressing cost variances identified by the accounting department.
  • Manage the data entry for new programs, ensuring the accuracy of SAP BOM, Material Master, and Routing data in relation to ECNs.
  • Recommend continuous improvements to operations processes, particularly the ECN process.

Job Description

The ERP Data Specialist is responsible for the implementation of Engineering Changes on the Operations side of the business and the data integrity of all ERP Bill of Material & Routing information along with streamlining the processes involved in creating and editing each of these sets of information. This role is also responsible for diagnosing & solving issues related to BOM & Routing data integrity that occur on the production floor and working jointly with our Engineering group on developing solid configuration management decisions. This position will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Essential Job Duties
  • Drive the implementation of Engineering Changes Notifications (ECNs) on the Operations side of the business by maintaining clear status of all ECNs and by holding all functional groups responsible for their tasks in the process and ensuring all stakeholders have all of crucial information relative to the ECNs
  • Work with Design Engineering in the development of ECNs to ensure robust Configuration Management practices are being followed on the relevant documentation
  • Develop a deep understanding of how INFICON currently uses its existing ERP System (SAP) for all production floor BOM & routing related characteristics such as variant configuration BOMs, sub-assemblies, phantoms, work centers, setup hours, machine & labor hours, backflush, confirmations & part consumptions, point-of-use inventory & kanbans
  • Play a key role in the roll-out of INFICON's new Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and help INFICON transition from its current mode where production routings are disconnected from the production work instructions to its future state where all production routings and work instructions will be tied together via configurations implemented by the ERP Data Specialists in conjunction with the Manufacturing Engineering team
  • Work to diagnose & solve production floor issues related to BOMs & Routings as well as cost-variances that the cost-accounting department identifies as tied to routing issues
  • Responsible for the data-entry for all New Program Development (NPD) SAP BOM, Material Master & Routing data and for implementing SAP data changes tied to ECNs for existing production product
  • Help drive continuous improvement by making recommendations on improvements to INFICON's Operation's processes, most especially the ICN process
  • Help to identify areas of improvement in INFICON's SAP configurations and help to drive the proposed changes to the workload of INFICON's Global SAP team
  • Work on generating custom queries in SAP to better understand the underlying data that drives INFICON's business processes and analyze this data to make recommendations on improvements to the business decisions that rely on this information
  • Work jointly on a near-daily basis with INFICON's Design Engineering, Operations Engineering, Production, Planning, Logistics departments

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
  • Demonstrated experience as a power-user of an ERP system(s) and deep familiarity with Engineering Changes, BOMs, routings & production work orders, preferably in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing organization
  • Minimal requirement Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline and 2+ years of experience or the equivalent combination of education, training & experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop methods of entry/edits of large ERP datasets
  • Demonstrated ability of being strong at self-education on software systems/capabilities
  • Preferred experience generating data queries to investigate and make data edits/loads on a large-scale basis
  • Experience in high cleanliness, tight tolerance, and high mix manufacturing environments preferred

Additional Information

The expected salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $95,000 annually. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit sharing bonus with a target of 10%. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
