Full Job Description
Position Overview

The Erosion Control Business Development Manager plays a vital role in the sales organization at SiteOne. This role is responsible for prospecting new accounts and expanding margin dollars within under-penetrated accounts, while owning and developing a defined territory.

We are seeking a results-driven individual who serves as a trusted advisor to contractors, engineers, developers, and public regulatory agencies and municipal stakeholders. In this role, you will help customers navigate complex site conditions, regulatory requirements, and constructability challenges by combining strong sales execution with technical credibility across erosion control, geosynthetics, and stormwater solutions.

Success in this role requires solution-selling, early project engagement, and the ability to influence outcomes across heavy civil, DOT, commercial, and land development projects.

What you'll do:
  • Demonstrate strong prospecting skills to identify new accounts and key decision-makers
  • Manage a book of business consisting of accounts currently doing little or no business with SiteOne, leveraging solution-selling techniques to expand margin dollars
  • Use Territory Alignment tools to prioritize and target focus accounts and sales activity
  • Act as a technical resource for customers across erosion control, geosynthetics, and stormwater solutions, partnering with internal specialists and vendors as needed
  • Support customers across heavy civil, DOT, commercial, and land development projects through planning, pre-bid, and solution-development conversations
  • Ensure customers are aware of and utilizing all SiteOne capabilities, including SiteOne University, vendor support, and the Partner's Program
  • Partner and communicate effectively with Sales Support Representatives, Line of Business Specialists, and branch associates to ensure accurate order placement, fulfillment follow-through, and a positive customer experience
  • Facilitate effective hand-off of customers to branch personnel or Key Account Managers when appropriate
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating issues and developing effective solutions
  • Report progress against opportunities and share verifiable outcomes
  • Leverage CRM tools to manage account activity, track opportunities, document customer interactions, and report on pipeline and performance

Skills We Are Seeking

    • 3+ years of sales experience, preferably in business development or account management
    • Experience in erosion control, geosynthetics, stormwater, civil construction, or site development strongly preferred
    • Proven prospecting, negotiation, conflict resolution, and customer service skills, with the ability to access and influence decision-makers
    • Understanding of the sales cycle and solution-selling techniques
    • Ability to clearly communicate value propositions and differentiate SiteOne products and services
    • Effective at connecting with and influencing key stakeholders across construction and regulatory environments
    • Strong presentation and communication skills
    • Ability to think quickly, make sound decisions, and manage priorities independently
    • Proficiency using CRM tools to organize accounts, manage opportunities, and drive consistent sales execution
    • College degree in Business, Management, or related discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
