Full Job Description
Engineer IV - Function as an engineering technical authority for the Operations and Maintenance business unit ERO compliance program. Engineer and collectively own the full lifecycle of compliance program development, continuous improvement, and strategic alignment for the Protection and Control (PRC) Standards, Critical Infrastructure and Protection (CIP) Standards, COM, TOP, EOP, PER, and all other applicable business unit ERO Standards. Prepare and certify assigned regulatory filings, audit responses, and standards ballots. Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to junior Compliance Specialists and O&M department staff. Proactively identify emerging regulatory risks, develop mitigation strategies, and drive enterprise-wide compliance culture improvements. This position operates with an intermediate degree of autonomy and exercises informed judgment on complex compliance and regulatory matters.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.

Experience:
Minimum of six (6) years (E-IV), eight (8) years (E-V), or ten (10) years (E-VI) of progressive engineering experience in an electric power system environment, or four (4) years (E-IV), six (6) years (E-V), or eight (8) years (E-VI) with a PE license, with at least four (4) years, six (6) years, or eight (8) years, respectively, in system protection, relay and control design and/or substation testing at the bulk electric system level. Including contributions to NERC compliance program management (E-IV) or demonstrated leadership in NERC compliance program management (E-V and E-VI). Some expertise (E-IV), expertise (E-V), or deep expertise (E-VI) in NERC CIP requirements, ERO audit processes, and regulatory filing procedures required. Proven involvement in formal compliance audits (E-IV) or proven experience leading formal compliance audits (E-V and E-VI), developing compliance governance frameworks, and mentoring technical staff.

Equivalent Experience:
B.S. Degree - Technical, eight (8) years experience (E-IV and E-V) or twelve (12) years experience (E-VI); B.S. Degree - Other, nine (9) years experience (E-IV and E-V) or thirteen (13) years experience (E-VI); Associates degree - Technical, ten (10) years experience (E-IV and E-V) or fourteen (14) years experience (E-VI); Non-degree, fourteen (14) years experience (E-IV and E-V) or eighteen (18) years experience (E-VI), in a power system environment or compliance, auditing, or risk management.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: EIT Certification and/or PE preferred. Must be able to pass all requirements for GTC to work on and around cyber assets.

Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.):
Excellent computer skills, excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization, strong interpersonal and team dynamic skills, strong organizational and negotiation skills, self starter with solid integrity and the ability to provide directions and attention to detail. Understanding of electric system technical system protection and operations issues as they relate to FERC, ERO and Regional Entity compliance requirements.

Must be able to pass a NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening.
