  • Oversee payroll approvals and ensure timely administrative duties.
  • Facilitate regular staff meetings and huddles for clear communication.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory agency requirements and standards.

Full Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Licensure as registered nurse in state of Texas.
  • Certification in area of specialization preferred.
  • Current BLS/ACLS/PALS certification
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) & Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma from accredited nursing program. BSN required.
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience in acute care setting preferred.


RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Guides and directs nursing staff regarding safe, effective patient care, problem-solving and decision making according to patient needs, staff capabilities and facility resources.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills.
  • Lead initiatives for clinical competency, continuing education, and emergency preparedness.
  • Interviews, orients, assigns work schedules, conducts and reviews evaluations and disciplines personnel to manage performance. Conducts annual performance evaluations and competency documentation.
  • Implements agreed staffing patterns.
  • Assist in investigating and initiating follow-up and corrective action, when necessary, in response to complaints and/or concerns from patients, families, physicians or employees.
  • Develops, implements and monitors, methods and strategies to achieve high patient satisfaction results.
  • Proficient in managing conflict in stressful conditions.
  • Remains familiar with, and maintains unit compliance with, all regulatory agency requirements, including, but not limited to CMS, JCAHO and Texas Department of Health.
  • Oversees payroll approval responsibilities to ensure accurate timekeeping.
  • Directs staff huddles and regular staff meeting to ensure timely communication of information.
  • Participates in EMR and other auditing responsibilities as necessary. Identifies areas of opportunity for improvement in delivery of patient care.
  • Attends and participates in committee meetings as required.
  • Ability to accommodate flexible work schedule.
  • Support for new service lines.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and protocols.

    Category I exposure to blood borne pathogens, frequent exposure to chemical hazards and may encounter radiation hazards.
