Full Job Description
Role Summary:

Equity Traders are responsible for executing trades for fundamental, quantitative, and index strategies globally. You will work closely with the broader investment team to deliver desired portfolio exposures in the most efficient manner while contributing to the Trading group's broader objectives.

Accountabilities & Qualifications:

Accountabilities:
  • Under the guidance of senior team members, play an active role in the day-to-day execution and management of the Fund's equity exposures. The Toronto desk executes trades across North America, Latin America, and Asia.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external trading counterparties, brokers, exchanges, and other market participants across channels and regions.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance trading systems, execution analytics, and implementation processes. Support investment teams by sharing market insights, trade ideas, and fulfilling data requests.
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve portfolio management and trading outcomes by developing a deep understanding of investment processes, market structure, and execution dynamics.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning by expanding knowledge of equity markets, market microstructure, trading technologies, and execution best practices.
  • Work on projects focused on system enhancements, trading analytics, strategy back-testing, workflow improvements, and internal presentations.
  • Proactively identify and solve problems, challenge existing processes where appropriate, and contribute ideas that improve the effectiveness of the trading function.
  • Contribute to the development and application of AI-enabled tools to enhance trading analytics, execution monitoring, workflow automation, and decision support.


Qualifications
  • 0-3 years of experience in trading, financial markets, or investment management, gained through professional roles or internships. Candidates with buy-side or sell-side experience and recent graduates
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Progress toward a professional designation such as the CFA is an asset.
  • Strong and demonstrated interest in financial markets, investing, and equity trading.
  • Genuine curiosity about market microstructure, execution quality, trading strategies, and how markets function.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative, a high degree of ownership, and a demonstrated willingness to go the extra mile to achieve team objectives.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and desire to excel in a high-performance environment.
