Full Job Description
About the role

Rippling's EOR Equity Services is a dedicated program that supports equity-related payroll, tax withholding, and country-specific reporting and filings for EOR employees worldwide. The program covers non-qualified stock options (NSOs) and restricted stock units (RSUs) across supported countries.

We are looking for a EOR Equity Services Program Manager to lead and scale this program. This is not a greenfield build - the program is live, serving customers, and growing. You will own the operational excellence, compliance integrity, and strategic expansion of EOR Equity Services globally. The role combines deep equity compensation and tax expertise with program leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and client advisory.

This role is primarily individual contributor-focused, with people management responsibilities expected to grow as the program scales. You will manage a small team while spending the majority of your time as a hands-on subject matter expert advising customers, managing compliance filings, and partnering cross-functionally.

How this role is different

Unlike traditional equity plan administration or stock plan advisory roles, this position focuses on ensuring compliance for equity issued to employees under the EOR employment model. Key distinctions:

  • Compliance execution, not plan design: Rippling does not create or manage client equity plans. You ensure that payroll reporting, tax withholding, remittance, and statutory filings are completed correctly for equity events processed through EOR payroll.
  • EOR-specific nuances: Employees are legally employed by Rippling's EOR entities, introducing unique compliance considerations like differing tax treatments (e.g., ISOs treated as NSOs), country-specific filing obligations, and post-termination equity handling.
  • Revenue-generating program ownership: You will partner with Sales, Account Management, and Implementation teams to support pre-sales conversations, drive adoption, and ensure the service delivers measurable value to customers.

What you will do

  • Program Leadership & Compliance Operations
    • Own end-to-end delivery of EOR Equity Services across all supported countries, ensuring payroll reporting, withholding, remittance, and statutory filings are completed accurately and on time.
    • Evaluate taxable events, reporting obligations, payroll implications, and operational feasibility for stock options, RSUs, and non-standard equity instruments (phantom equity, token-based compensation, secondary sales, and cash consideration in M&A transactions).
    • Manage country-specific equity filing calendars (e.g., UK ERS Return, Ireland RSS1, Australia ESS, Singapore IR8A, and additional jurisdictions).
    • Partner with local tax professionals and third-party payroll providers.
  • Client Advisory & Support
    • Serve as the subject matter expert on EOR equity compliance for internal teams and external customers.
    • Advise customers on the unique implications of issuing equity through an EOR structure, including payroll withholding obligations, how tax treatment differs from direct employment, annual filings, post-termination considerations, and country-specific requirements
    • Develop and maintain customer-facing documentation, training materials, Help Center content, and one-pagers that guide clients through compliance requirements.
    • Clearly communicate the boundary between Rippling's responsibilities (payroll reporting and filings) and customer responsibilities (equity plan design, cap table management, securities filings).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Product Partnership
    • Shape the product roadmap for equity-related features in partnership with Product and Engineering.
    • Define data collection requirements, validation rules, tooltips, and automation features to improve the client and internal experience.
    • Collaborate with Payroll/Tax Operations, Legal, and EOR Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of equity-related payroll transactions. Translate complex legal, tax, payroll, and compliance guidance into clear, actionable recommendations for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Go-to-Market & Program Growth
    • Partner with Sales, Account Management, and Implementation teams during pre-sales and onboarding by joining customer calls and advising on EOR equity services, compliance considerations, and operational requirements.
    • Track program adoption metrics, identify barriers to conversion, and recommend strategies to accelerate growth. Develop project plans, timelines, and accountability frameworks to ensure all reporting obligations and filing deadlines are met as the customer base scales.
  • Project Management & Continuous Improvement
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team (2 initially) of equity operations specialists.
    • Implement process improvements and advocate for automation to optimize workflows as volume grows.
    • Establish clear accountability and timelines for stakeholders to meet compliance deadlines.
    • Track and document current capabilities, identifying areas requiring additional enablement, tooling, or headcount.

What you have

  • Bachelor's degree in Tax, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
  • 8-10+ years of experience in equity compensation administration, equity tax compliance, or a related role with increasing scope
  • Deep understanding of equity types (e.g., NSOs, RSUs, etc.) and their global tax, payroll, and compliance implications in at least two different jurisdictions
  • Demonstrated experience managing equity compliance filings in at least one country (e.g., UK ERS, Ireland RSS1, Australia ESS, Singapore IR8A)
  • Proven ability to interpret legal and tax guidance from external advisors and translate it into operational processes and client-facing communications
  • Strong project/program management skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple jurisdictions simultaneously
  • Experience collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to build or improve compliance workflows and tooling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused mindset (i.e., able to convey complex tax and compliance topics clearly to non-experts)
  • Experience managing or mentoring direct reports (formal or informal)

Nice to have

  • Experience in an Employer of Record
  • Familiarity with equity administration platforms (e.g., Carta, Shareworks)
  • CEP (Certified Equity Professional) designation or equivalent
  • Experience supporting pre-sales or GTM motions for a compliance or HR services product
  • Experience working across multiple time zones with distributed teams
