Key responsibilities

Do you want to use your fundamental equity market expertise and portfolio management knowledge to help manage portfolios and identify new investment opportunities? Do you enjoy uncovering what really drives value in technology businesses? Can you turn deep analysis into clear investment views that shape portfolios?
We're looking for an Equity Research Analyst - Technology, to:
• generate differentiated bottom-up investment ideas across the technology sector (e.g., software, semiconductors, internet, IT services, digital platforms, AI and emerging technologies) for our client portfolios
• conduct proprietary research through management meetings, industry expert calls, conferences, product analysis, channel checks, filings, and data analysis to formulate differentiated insights and high-conviction investment views
• build and maintain detailed financial and valuation models, incorporating key technology-specific drivers such as revenue growth, margin expansion, product adoption, recurring revenue trends, and competitive dynamics
• translate detailed fundamental analysis into clear investment recommendations that support portfolio decisions
• partner closely with portfolio managers to move ideas from research into our portfolios
• assess industry trends, technological disruption, competitive positioning, and long-term growth opportunities to develop comprehensive investment recommendations and risk assessments
• communicate insights clearly and succinctly through written notes and presentations to colleagues and clients

The team

You'll join our global equity team and will be based in either London, New York, or Chicago. Our investment philosophy is focused on identifying high-conviction ideas based on a rigorous assessment of companies' long-term intrinsic value. You will be working within a team of sector specialists who develop deep domain expertise while sharing insights across regions and strategies. We have a collaborative culture built on disciplined valuation, independent thinking, and constructive debate.

Your skills and experience
• ideally 7+ years of equity research, buy-side, or sell-side experience, with direct coverage of technology companies
• strong understanding of software, semiconductors, internet, IT services, digital platforms, cloud computing, AI, and/or emerging technology business models
• advanced accounting, valuation, and financial modeling capabilities, including experience analyzing technology-specific metrics such as ARR, revenue retention, unit economics, user engagement, and operating leverage
• demonstrated ability to originate, structure, and defend investment ideas supported by rigorous analysis
• strong understanding of technology industry trends, competitive dynamics, innovation cycles, and disruptive business models
• strong academic credentials in finance, economics, engineering, computer science, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred
• experience turning complex analysis into well-supported investment recommendations
• ability to communicate investment views clearly both in writing and in discussion
• critical thinker and self-starter, with a focus on detail and quality of outcomes
• comfortable working closely with others while progressing work independently
• you're curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment, validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use

Salary information

The indicative gross base salary range as a full-time equivalent role:
• United States - Illinois - Chicago min USD 170000 - max USD 225000 /annum
