Job Description

We are seeking an Equipment Engineer to support the development, implementation, improvement, and reliability of production equipment and manufacturing systems. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, maintainability, and performance of critical production assets through equipment lifecycle management, preventative maintenance planning, automation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and improve production equipment and asset reliability systems.
  • Conduct equipment health assessments and support asset lifecycle management.
  • Evaluate business and project requirements and develop equipment concepts and solutions.
  • Manage equipment development, acquisition, testing, commissioning, and modification projects.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and cross-functional teams to meet project schedules and budgets.
  • Generate equipment specifications, verification plans, and validation test protocols.
  • Analyze maintenance and spare parts data to improve reliability and reduce costs.
  • Optimize milling, forming, automation, robotics, and metal processing equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, ergonomic, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain configuration control of hardware, software, and technical documentation.
  • Develop production readiness, preventive maintenance, and spare parts plans.
  • Support continuous improvement and troubleshooting activities across manufacturing operations.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Data Science, or related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of related engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing complex technical equipment projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and spare parts management.
  • Experience with hardware, software, and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with industry safety standards and compliance requirements.
  • Technical writing and documentation experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production systems.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor less experienced engineers.

Education / Experience
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry (e.g., Bachelor's degree) and typically 5 or more years of related work experience (e.g., Master's degree with 3+ years of related experience or PhD with related experience). ABET accreditation is preferred, though not required.
