SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for the development, configuration, implementation, and on-going support of the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other supporting IT systems for Penn State Health systems. This role involves working closely with clinical, operational, financial services, and administrative staff to optimize the use of the Epic system, ensuring it meets the needs of the healthcare organization and supports the delivery of high-quality patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or equivalent experience required.
  • Four (4) years of experience in the analysis, design, build, testing, and maintenance of Epic EMR or other EMR applications, with a strong understanding of healthcare workflows related to electronic medical record systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Knowledge of the various patient accounting systems at Penn State Health
  • Experience with configuring, supporting and monitoring processes for professional and hospital billing
  • Understanding the entire patient accounting revenue cycle; from coding to charges to bill drop to remittances to statements
  • Experience working with patient accounting third party vendors
  • Epic certification preferred. If not certified, must complete Epic certification as assigned in related application within 6 weeks after last training class.
