Full Job Description
A Snapshot of Your Day

We are seeking a highly motivated, well-organized individual to join Siemens Energy's US Technical Sales Team within Grid Technologies Services. Our ideal candidate will have experience in Electrical Substations EPC Turnkey proposals. The Lead Estimator will work with Siemens Energy sales teams and customers to develop proposals for the Electrical Substations, Equipment maintenance contracts, Construction, and Operation and Maintenance contracts. This role is for a front-line, technical sales supporting Service bids/tenders/proposals/offers for EPC projects, mostly in brown field. Collaborate and communicate with Siemens Energy account managers, Business Unit Sales and other Siemens Energy Business Units to identify proper strategy and scopes of work. Our service offering centers around the transmission substation where we maintain key components within it, the entire substation itself and our substation turnkey business too. Such Services include but are not limited to; (i) GIS/AIS Substation EPC (ii) Transformer Maintenance (iii) Breaker Maintenance (iv) GIS/AIS Maintenance (v) LTSA for substation & their assets.

How You'll Make an Impact
• Collaborate with Marketing to understand and influence efforts to support Sales activities.
• Support leadership in the collection of voice of customer (VOC) data to help advance new product development, product upgrades/refreshes, and service offerings.
• Ensure proper utilization of customer relationship management software (CRM-Salesforce)
• Successful candidate will be trained on tools to become independent and work with little to no supervision in the future.
• Effective communication with business development managers, Ops Manager, Service Engineers, is required.
• Supports proposal team with reading specifications for tender, calculating and writing proposals based on RFQ received, entering opportunities into Salesforce. Works closely with proposal team and parts business.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Assess 3PL handling of Siemens inventory. Monitor 3PL KPI and escalate trends as necessary.

What You Bring
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Science, Engineering, Business or related preferred. Electrical Engineering Degree is a plus. 8-10 years of experience in similar job function experience in estimating utility focused construction and services
• Ability to review specs, scopes of work, and drawings Strong written and verbal communications time management skills
• Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally required. Experience pulling teams together to formulate winning bids
• Understanding of business, competitive landscape, legal/regulatory environment, needs/challenges of customers
• Ability to adapt strategy to meet customer needs Assist in creating proposals/offers for the repair/replace/new construction of substation equipment, applying own knowledge and experience to resolve problems.
• Recommend changes or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
