Environmental Specialist IV

Required: Bachelor's degree and minimum eight (8) years of multifaceted environmental experience
Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs for major infrastructure or energy projects during construction and operations
Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
Expertise in environmental compliance management, permit-condition tracking, contractor oversight, agency coordination, and stakeholder engagement for complex infrastructure or energy projects
This role manages environmental compliance for fast-paced Power Innovation projects through development, construction, commissioning, and operational handoff. The position translates permit conditions and environmental commitments into actionable compliance requirements; develops project-specific compliance plans, procedures, and tools; coordinates with engineering, construction, operations, legal, and environmental teams; and verifies that required inspections, monitoring, documentation, reporting, and corrective actions are completed. The role also supports agency coordination, contractor compliance, field issue resolution, and the transition of environmental obligations to operating assets. Senior specialists lead compliance strategy, complex issue resolution, and agency engagement, while mid-level specialists support plan development, field execution, documentation, and tracking.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
Develops, maintains, improves, and provides guidance on environmental compliance processes, procedures, plans, and tools
Interprets permit conditions, regulatory requirements, and environmental commitments and converts them into clear project and contractor compliance obligations
Coordinates environmental compliance planning, scheduling, and cost estimating, including inspections, monitoring, reporting, training, and recordkeeping
Works with project teams, contractors, consultants, and field personnel to verify compliance performance, resolve issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions
Leads environmental compliance programs or projects with significant risk and complexity; supports agency coordination, audits, incident response, and operational handoff
