Environmental Services Manager



S&ME's Huntsville, Alabama office is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Environmental Services Manager to lead our Environmental team.

As an Environmental Services Manager, you will spearhead Environmental Services within our Huntsville office. This isn't just a managerial role; it's a pivotal leadership opportunity where your seasoned expertise will shape and elevate our operational success.

Your strong leadership abilities, project management skills, and dedication to maintaining client satisfaction and project excellence will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of environmental services to our clients while contributing to the growth and development of the organization. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating with other managers and team leaders, managing projects, and engaging in business development activities to maintain and grow client relationships.

Your Day-to-Day:
  • Staff supervision, training, mentoring, and coaching of employees.
  • Meeting objectives in safety, quality, human resources, finances, and risk management
  • Staffing projects with appropriately trained and certified personnel, maximizing staff utilization and project profitability.
  • Serves as a Community Leader, partnering with other office leaders to give S&ME visibility in the community and professional organizations.
  • Coordinates with project managers and leaders/project managers in other services regarding potential opportunities and supports them with resources needed to win and complete projects.


What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental science or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience conducting and managing environmental projects.
  • Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist license preferred
    • Additional environmental certifications/accreditations, a plus
  • Demonstrated successful team leadership and management with a good understanding of safety policies/procedures, quality, business metrics, human resources policies/procedures, and risk management concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, staff, and regulatory personnel.
  • Effective technical, project management, client management, and business development
