Job Highlights

Responsible for compliance with environmental standards and regulations, such as Clean Water, Waste, and Air Quality, as well as monitoring the progress of key initiatives that are designed to address critical environmental opportunities, promote sustainability, and aiding in maintaining a safe work environment. Primary responsibilities include
  • Conducting environmental inspections and sampling including waste management, water, and air compliance requirements. (NESHAP FF, generator hours, opacity, leak detection and (LDAR), and hazardous waste compliance).
  • Waste management including waste characterization, profiling, container management, and waste manifests.
  • Maintaining regulatory compliance for the site and updating site environmental databases, procedures, and reports (ESG, Hazardous waste, ISO 14001, Air, Water, TRI)
  • Assisting Health and Safety with maintaining and implementing the site's safety programs, including safety walks, participation in projects and MOCs, and HSE equipment and supply management.

Experience / Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or other science related degree.
  • 3+ years of environmental compliance experience in a regulated industrial setting (chemical manufacturing, refining, or heavy industrial).
  • Demonstrated experience working with RCRA (Large Quantity Generator), Clean Air Act, and Clean Water Act regulations.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Physical Requirements
    • This position requires the ability to work safely in outdoor industrial environments and office settings, including exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, chemicals, and moving equipment. Essential duties include walking long distances, climbing ladders and stairs, working at heights or in confined spaces, operating vehicles and hand tools, repetitive bending and lifting up to 50 pounds, and prolonged computer use. Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and accurately document field observations and data.

In accordance with Washington state pay transparency requirements, the pay range for this role is Min $78,900 to Max $131,500. Where an individual falls within this range will depend on the hiring budget, internal equity, and the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
