As an Environmental Protection Specialist, you will:
- Serve as a Program Manager for industrial waste management, including hazardous and non-hazardous wastes, waste minimization and pollution prevention, spill preparedness, prevention, and response.
- Maintain all waste management records and data to meet regulatory reporting and Executive Order requirements.
- Prepare technical reports of environmental analyses and studies undertaken, including findings and recommendations.
- Develop and prepare instructional and informational material, including official bulletins, newsletters, guides and etc., to promote awareness, understanding, and acceptance of environmental programs and procedures.
- Take corrective action or reports to proper authorities those safety discrepancies that would be harmful to personnel and/or equipment.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.Specialized experience for the
GS-13 level is one year of experience at the
GS-12 level or equivalent that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience includes:-Assisting in the development of, or participating in environmental programs, encompassing hazardous and non-hazardous waste compliance, spill preparedness prevention, and response plans;
AND-Making recommendations in matters concerning regulatory requirements that relate to industrial wastewater pretreatment or sanitary wastewater treatment, and storm water management;
AND-Serving on a team that operates and maintains an industrial wastewater pretreatment plant or sanitary wastewater treatment plant; or managing a contract for the operations and maintenance of an industrial wastewater pretreatment plant or sanitary wastewater treatment plant.

- The facility typically shuts down annually between Christmas and New Year's Day. As such, all BEP employees must take leave for workdays during the shutdown period.
