Position Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the company's environmental compliance risks and ensuring compliance with various environmental regulations including aboveground/underground storage tanks, spill prevention, control and countermeasures plans (SPCC), UST/AST tank removals and remediation portfolios; as well as any other regulatory requirements that affect the business. Additionally, this position is responsible for the ongoing development of compliance strategies.

The role is an "in-office" position where the Environmental Project Manager is expected to be in the office 4 days per week located at 2675 Morgantown Rd, Reading, Pennsylvania.

Major Responsibilities:
• Manage compliance reporting, permitting and regulatory plans to governmental agencies on behalf of the Company.
• Manage environmental compliance reports/letters/plans and assist field locations with corrective actions related to compliance issues identified during regulatory inspections.
• Make decisions to implement solutions to improve compliance, reduce costs, improve cycle times, and limit environmental risks and improve environmental sustainability of the company.
• Coordinate with and oversee vendors and contractors, performing environmental services including but not limited to tank compliance (testing/inspections), tank removal, and remediation.
• Provide decision-making opinions to other Departments (Fuels, Facilities and Real Estate) related to environmental issues (i.e., manage tank-related corrective actions, advise on tank removals or closures).
• Assist with all tank compliance tasks.
• Manage and oversee location information and tank asset management in Tank Management Information Software (TMIS).
• Manage Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plans and Tank Integrity Program.
• Other projects and tasks, as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree required - Environmental/Earth Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or another applicable field.
• Certifications preferred but not required - Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Professional Geologist (PG), Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Environmental Manager (REM), Registered Environmental Professional (REP), or other applicable certifications.
• Experience 5-7 years of experience working in the environmental field with knowledge of environmental regulations as they relate to the transportation industry. These regulations include, but are not limited to storage tanks, waste management, water discharge, air discharge, as well as due diligence and remediation knowledge.
• With at least 5 years of experience working with Underground and/or Aboveground Tank Compliance
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
