Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager for our Parsippany, NJ office to directly support one of our utility clients. This experienced professional will perform a variety of environmental tasks in support of the natural resources group for our client.  The position would be remote based but require occasionally field visits and office visits in northern NJ/southern NY (i.e., Passaic, Bergen, Orange, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland counties). The job reauires helping the client to move the natural resource related materials through the project development, planning, construction, and close-out phsae. The work may include due diligence reviews, attending project calls and meetings, supportiung and completing environmental municipal, state, and federal permit applicaitons, attending construction meetings, perfomrmning compliance reviews, and closing out projects.

The candidate must be flexible, client focused and capable of working independently, while supporting a team that includes engineers, scientists, and field personnel. The work required is diverse and requires strong communication skills and knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and Adobe Acrobat. Current OSHA 40-hour certification and/or other applicable certification preferred.  This position requires client approval and may last up to one year in duration.

  • Prepares and manages scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
  • Work with staff and management team to develop strategic direction for implementation of environmental-related projects and/or litigation support.
  • Support negotiations with regulatory agencies and management of compliance with applicable orders, agency directives, and permits.
  • Manages and meets budgets. 
  • Meets project, client, and regulatory deadlines.
  • Other duties as required.
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • BS in Environmental Science or closely related field 
  • Seven to ten years of experience.
  • OSHA 40-hour certification with a current 8-hour annual refresher course certification.
  • Working knowledge of NJDEP, NYSDEC, and US Army Corps of Engineers requirements a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Communicates effectively with clients, coworkers, subconsultants, and county/agency review staff.
  • Composes technical reports, memoranda, and other written communication.
  • Handles multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proficiency with basic MS Office software
  • Driving is a requirement of the position.  A clean driving record is required

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $103,600 to $120,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NJ only.
