Environmental Manager | Cartersville Steel MillLead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives at one of North America's leading steel manufacturers. As Environmental Manager, you'll play a critical leadership role in ensuring regulatory compliance, driving continuous improvement, and shaping the environmental strategy for a large-scale steel operation.
What You'll Do- Lead all environmental compliance programs, permits, and reporting activities, including Air (Title V), Water (NPDES), Stormwater, SPCC, Hazardous Waste, SARA, and Radiation Protection.
- Oversee the site's Environmental Management System (EMS) and drive environmental performance improvement initiatives.
- Manage environmental KPIs, capital projects, audits, and compliance action plans.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and maintain strong relationships with corporate and site leadership.
- Support landfill operations, groundwater monitoring, remediation activities, and emissions control systems.
- Lead and develop environmental personnel while fostering a culture of environmental stewardship and operational excellence.
- Act as a key advisor to plant leadership and serve as backup support for Health & Safety leadership.
What We're Looking For- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 4+ years of environmental compliance experience in steel manufacturing, metals, mining, power generation, chemicals, or other heavy industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations, permitting, and reporting requirements.
- Proven experience working with regulatory agencies, audits, compliance programs, and environmental management systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and continuous improvement skills.
