Overview: The Environmental Manager is responsible for interpreting and guiding operations towards compliance with all applicable safety rules and regulations while complying with all environmental standards and/or MCC policies. Basic qualifications and/or traits that the MCC Environmental Manager must possess include:
- A thorough knowledge of EPA and State environmental rules and regulations including WDEQ, NPDES, RCRA, etc.
- Knowledge of all safety rules and regulations including MSHA, M/NM, OSHA, and State of Wyoming.
- Leadership; must be capable of educating and motivating others to maintain compliance at all times.
- Integrity and ethical behavior beyond reproach.
- Must possess good communication skills including writing, speaking, listening, etc.
- A thorough knowledge of cement manufacturing.
- Must be able to communicate environmental compliance objectives clearly to other MCC management/supervisory personnel. This individual shall provide feedback/appraisals to ascertain whether the objectives are being met.
- Must possess good decision making skills based upon the ability to identify problems, collect relevant information/data, and generate alternatives.
- Must be capable of handling stress associated with job duties, deadlines, and personnel interactions.
- Capable of maintaining appropriate and constructive responses under all circumstances.
Responsibilities: The Environmental Manager is accountable for providing direction and assisting all MCC employees to perform job duties in compliance with applicable environmental rules and regulations. This individual's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Compliance with all Federal and State rules/regulations at all times. Procedures and performance of compliance activities may vary as conditions change (i.e. changing weather conditions, operational status of mechanical equipment changes, etc.).
- Interpretation of all environmental rules and regulations for MCC supervisors and management personnel.
- Company liaison with EPA and WDEQ regulatory authorities.
- Completion of required paperwork, reports, and all other requests of environmental regulatory agencies.
- Problem solving including the ability to identify problems, development of corrective actions, and holding MCC supervisors accountable for safety/accidental performance.
- Clear communication of compliance priorities/goals/objectives to all employees to provide definitive direction to all MCC employees.
Education & Experience:- A B.S. degree in the Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
- A familiarity with legal interpretations and operations is beneficial.
- A fundamental understanding of all state and federal rules and regulations affecting all MCC operations, i.e. EPA and State of Wyoming rules and regulations.
Physical Requirements: The Environmental Manager position is safety sensitive. The physical requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Working 8-12 hours shifts.
- Working in areas of heat, cold, muddy, icy, or dusty conditions for extended periods of time.
- Subject to twisting, bending, stooping, lifting, and climbing.
- Lifting 65+ lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
